My name is Kerry Stevenson I would just like to briefly introduce myself. I am the found and director of Mind over monkey. I also work with an organisation called Tough Cookie, who go into the workplace to do specific resilience training. So, I actually came to mindfulness in my early 20s because of necessity; so I was really struggling with anxiety and panic attacks for several years and the conventional routes just hadn’t really dealt with the problem enough for me to live “a normal life”. So, I was actually studying neuroscience at the time at a university in London and I found all this research coming out about what happens to the brain when we do a regular meditation practice and it blew my mind, and I thought “I have to find out more about this”. So, I found a local meditation group, and at first it was really challenging, but actually over time I stuck with it and I saw over the years the benefits that I was starting to reap. It did take a while as I had a lot of stuff I had to deal with, but it was really worth it and I wanted to share it with other people. So, I did my teacher training and here I am today, working with organisations, with private groups, with individuals, with different charities and disadvantaged populations to bring mindfulness to different parts of London.
