The data controller is Forum Media Polska Sp. z o.o. with its registered office in Poland, Poznan (60-595), Polska 13 Street (owner of the www.uniqskills.co.uk website). The company is part of the international publishing holding FORUM MEDIA GROUP and publishes books, magazines, and software, as well as seminars and trainings. 

WHERE DO WE GET YOUR PERSONAL DATA FROM?

We obtain your personal data primarily from you. You provide us with your data when registering on our website (www.uniqskills.co.uk) or subscribing to the newsletter. We receive additional personal data, e.g. regarding your registered office address or your tax identification number, from you in connection with the sale of publications, software or training through our website. We also obtain your data in connection with your complaints and as part of your contact with us via the Customer Service Office. We process your personal data in order to ensure the functionality of our website. This includes, in particular, providing you with the opportunity to register on the website and the possibility of giving consent to receive marketing communication from us by e-mail or telephone. Separately, via the website, you can contact us on an ongoing basis to ask us questions or make complaints.

c) We process your personal data provided by you when shopping on our website in order to fulfill the sales contract, and then also to enable you to exercise the rights granted by the website regulations.

d) Data regarding your use of the website, which we obtain via the so-called cookies, we process on the basis of your consent.

e) If we ask you for your opinion on a given product or service – we process your data with reference to the so-called legitimate interest of the data controller, which we have in order to constantly improve our services and product offer.

f) If you contact us to ask a question about how we run the website or how to perform certain activities, we collect your questions and related data and provide answers with reference to the legitimate interest we have in providing our customers and users with full information and providing them with a positive experience with our website.

g) All your data that we have as a data controller we also process for marketing purposes with reference to the so-called legitimate interest of the data controller. Marketing purposes include, in particular, presenting you with offers and promotions that we believe may be of interest to you, as well as other information promoting the products of our publishing house and the offer of our website.

HOW LONG DO WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

The period for which we process your personal data depends on the purpose of processing. And so respectively:

a) Registration on our website – for the period you are registered – until you unsubscribe from the website. After this period, we will process your data for purposes related to the accountability of our activities, which we are obliged to do by the provisions on the protection of personal data and for the period of limitation of your claims, but not longer than 6 years.

b) Marketing messages by e-mail or telephone – until you withdraw consent. After this period, we will process your data for purposes related to the accountability of our activities, which we are obliged to do by the provisions on the protection of personal data and for the period of limitation of your claims, but not longer than 6 years.

c) Implementation of sales – for the duration of the contract. After this period, we will process your data for purposes related to the accountability of our activities, to which we are obliged by the provisions on the protection of personal data and for the period of limitation of your claims, but not longer than 5 years.

d) Answering questions – if you are a registered user of the website – for the time referred to in letter a) above. If you are not a registered user of the website – for the time necessary to provide the necessary explanations and answers.

e) Obtained data on how you use our services (via cookies) and data processed in our marketing database – throughout the period when you are our customer and later for a period of 5 years from the time when you ceased to be our customer (you stopped using the services we provide and did not make purchases in our stores).

WHO IS THE RECIPIENT OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

We transfer your data only if it is necessary to provide the services you order. We do not sell your data, we do not commercially share your data with third parties.

We may entrust your personal data to our business partners:

a) companies providing us with services for the delivery and maintenance of database software, thanks to which we can run our website, send marketing messages by e-mail or telephone and relevant sales records, etc.;

b) marketing agencies that help us understand what our clients are interested in, which help us create interesting offers, promotions and help us in ongoing communication with our clients, including you.

For each of these purposes, we only provide the data that is necessary to achieve it. We would like you to know that where possible we use anonymization or pseudonymization tools, i.e. activities that make you unidentifiable for our partners and subcontractors, and where we still have your data.

In the case of payment transactions, in connection with your purchases, we provide your personal data necessary to make the payment to the intermediary in the payment process, i.e. the Dotpay or PayU payment system

We process personal data in accordance with applicable law, in particular in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

We bear in mind the following rules that guide us when processing your personal data:

a) Adequacy rule

We process only the data that is necessary to achieve the respective purpose of processing. For each process, we conducted an analysis of the fulfillment of this rule.

b) Transparency rule

You should have full knowledge of what is happening with your data. This document, in which we try to provide you with full information about the rules for the processing of your personal data by us, is its manifestation.

c) Regularity rule

d) Integrity and confidentiality rule

We use the necessary measures to safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of your personal data. We are constantly improving them, along with the changing environment and technological progress. Security measures include physical and technological measures to limit access to your data, as well as appropriate safeguards against the loss of your data.

We want to be able to account for each of our actions on personal data, so that in the event of your inquiry, we can provide you with full and reliable information on what activities we have carried out on your data.

WHAT CONSENTS DO WE COLLECT?

As part of our daily practice, we collect the following consents from users of our website and from our customers:

a) Consent to communicate with you electronically or by phone for marketing purposes – includes informing about new products, our offers, discounts, promotional campaigns. You can express this consent as part of creating an account on the website by completing the registration form available on the www.uniqskills.co.uk.

b) Consent to share your data with our partners, if you express interest in their offer or mutual cooperation.

Expressing consent is voluntary and we do not make the possibility of using the website or purchasing products or services dependent on your expression.

Please note that from the moment you withdraw your consent, it may take a certain amount of time before the application is accepted into the system and all databases will synchronize. We will endeavour to ensure that these activities take place without undue delay, but in no case may this take longer than one month.

Remember that the withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing that was carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.

WHAT RIGHTS DO YOU HAVE?

Data protection law gives you a number of rights that you can exercise at any time. Unless you abuse these rights (e.g. unjustified daily requests for information), the use of these rights will be free of charge for you and should be easy to implement.

Your rights include:

a) The right to access your personal data

This right means that you can ask us to export the information we hold about you from our databases and send it to you in one of the commonly used formats (e.g. XLSX, DOCX, etc.).

b) Right to rectification

If you find out that the data we process is incorrect, you have the right to ask us to correct it and we will be obliged to do so. In this case, we have the right to ask you to provide some document or other evidence of the change of data.

c) Right to restriction of processing

If, despite our compliance with the adequacy rule, which we write about in the section "How do we process personal data", you consider that we process too much of your personal data, you have the right to request that we limit this scope of processing. Unless your request contradicts the requirements imposed on us by applicable law, or it is not necessary for the performance of the contract, we will comply with your request.

d) Right to erasure

This right, also known as the right to be forgotten, means your right to request that we delete any information containing your personal data from our database systems and records. Remember that we will not be able to do so if we are obliged to process your data on the basis of legal provisions (e.g. transaction documents for tax purposes, warranty obligation, obligation to ensure accountability of our activities). In any case, however, we will delete your personal data to the fullest extent possible and, where this is not possible, we will ensure its pseudonymisation (which means that it is not possible to identify the data subject without an appropriate linkage key), so that your data, which we must retain in accordance with applicable law, will only be accessible to a very limited circle of people in our organization.

e) Right to data portability to another data controller

You can ask us to export the data you have provided to us in the course of all our contacts and cooperation to a separate file for further transmission to another data controller.

f) Right to make a complaint with the supervisory authority

WHAT IS THE RIGHT TO OBJECT?

Separately, we would like to inform you that you also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.

You submit the right to object when you do not want us to process your personal data for a specific purpose (e.g. for marketing purposes). In this case, we will continue to process your data for the needs of other processes (for other purposes), but no longer for the purpose for which you objected.
